Resident Evil 7, the sequel to Resident Evil 6 and Resident Evil 5 will be unveiled at the E3 Gaming Expo this June. This comes as a surprise to most as the last resident evil game was only released three years ago but Capcom does consider Resident Evil to be their biggest series and thus by wants to release a new installment to the franchise as quickly as they possibly can.
The rumors state that the new Resident Evil game will be focused directly on Chris Redfield once again, instead of being an action oriented game like Resident Evil 5. This Chris Redfield focused installment will have the character in the jungles of Peru, fighting on a new version of the virus that has combined the elements of zombies and the elements of monsters when they get close to you. The dense forest, dark lighting and slow pace of the zombies in the forest makes for a terrifying experience. It should be noted that the gameplay rumors are coming directly from sources within Capcom, making them more than likely to be true.
Capcom released a small statement regarding their appearance at E3, stating: “We will be releasing the first trailer for Resident Evil 7 at this year’s E3 Gaming Conference. We cannot wait to see the reaction we get from our fans as we have put great efforts into giving this game the classic Resident Evil experience that everyone loves. That is why we added an extra year to our development schedule.”
